Arizona Walk Now for Autism — 11/2

Monday, October 27th, 2008

SARRC is teaming up with Autism Speaks to host the third annual autism awareness and fundraising walk at Tempe Beach Park on November 2, 2008. The family-friendly event includes a variety of childrenÂ’s activities, live music and entertainment, arts & crafts, and a resource fair. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the 5k walk (about three miles) begins at 9 a.m. Last year, nearly 8,000 people walked raising more than $615,000 to help fund important autism research and programs at SARRC and Autism Speaks. We hope to surpass that amount this year and we need your help to do it. To volunteer for the 2008 walk committee, become a team sponsor or form a walk team of your own, please contact Rachel Southard of SARRC at (602) 340-8717 or rsouthard@autismcenter.org. Visit http://www.walknowforautism.org/arizona for more information.

Date: Sunday, November 2
Time: 8 a.m. to noon
Place: Tempe Beach Park, 54 W Rio Salado Pky, Tempe
