1. Meet Barbara Powers,M. Ed. is a consultant and tutor to those with academic and behavior issues. She is a reading specialist who has been trained in Brain Gym, and is RMT certified. Barbara will present an overview of the role sensory perceptions play and how to find interventions and techniques that will help your child increase his/her potential. If you think your child should be accomplishing more, then this is the meeting to attend and meet the following speakers.

2. Jump start the sensory motor systems - Dr. Rich Jones, D.C. and wife, Arlis Jones explain how their non-invasive therapy removes the interference in various body systems. This relieves stress and wakes up sensory neurons and much more. Their amazing techniques quickly bring needed results.

3. There is a specialized eye doctor in Arizona who is covered by AHCCS - Dr. Manisha Geiger with Nationwide Insurance is trained as a vision and behavioral optometrist. If you have other insurance, you can learn about the select few doctors in the Valley who are trained to recognize vision problems that result in learning and behavior issues. Dr. Geiger will speak on the advantages of Vision Therapy for children with Autism and how it increases their ability to read by increasing sensory perceptual systems.
If you are looking for a solution rather than a label, attend this meeting to meet personally and find out about the doctors, therapists, and consultants who can assist you in your journey to helping your child with hands-on-therapy and movement exercises!

The training includes 2 Sessions (each 1 hour) with a lunch break in between. Stay for one or both! Please invite any family or friends who are interested in learning this great technique or who may work with your child in the future!

ABA has proved to be the most successful technique in teaching children with developmental delays such as Autism. Each session includes information on research-based procedures and hands-on practice. Professionals who have worked in various types of learning environments teach the training.

Hab will also be provided for those bringing children. Please notify SDSA how many children you are bringing when you RSVP.

Session I: Intro to ABA
In this session, you will learn what ABA is; why it is used; and how to use it. Hands-on practice will help anyone use these procedures in all types of settings. You can even motivate your spouse to do chores!

Session II: Correction Procedures
Go deeper into ABA and learn how to approach the learning environment so students never fail! This session is perfect for discrete trials and natural settings. (This session’s topic will change each month)
